COMPLETE

www.shannonwatsonphoto.com

Taking our family picture got me thinking that this was the first family photo of our COMPLETE family. Yes, stick a fork in me-I'm done. With the baby making business, that is. Unless God has other plans, our family is complete.
After Rhett was born, I just really had a feeling that we would have another baby. We didn't feel quite "done". We were pretty sure we would have 3 kids, but no more. When I was pregnant with Thad, even though I couldn't imagine having 4, I just wasn't sure and didn't think I would be absolutely positive we were done after he was born. HOWEVER, since Thad has been here, I am OH SO SURE, that this is our complete family. So this is us, the Hubbard family-(unless, like I said, God has other plans, cause his are always best- right! But I tend to think He agrees with me on this one....)
So, I'm curious about you all. Are your families complete? If so, when did you know? Did you get the "feeling" or was it other factors? Do you regret not having just one more? If you're not "done" when do you think you will be? How will you know??

I think we are done, too. If it were totally up to me, we would be, as I had horrible deliveries and bad postpartum stuff, but Billy has often said he wanted one more (b/c we were both the baby of 3.) But, just the other day, he said, "You know. The older the get, the more I think adding one more might be a little crazy!" Yeah!!

WELL GOOD QUESTION.....MY FAMILY IS COMPLETE AND I KNEW THIS WHEN I WAS PREGNANT WITH BREK....NOT THAT MY PREGNANCIES WERE BAD BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT AT ALL BUT I MOSTLY FELT THIS WAY BECAUSE WHEN I FOUND OUT I WAS HAVING ANOTHER BOY I KNEW THAT IF I TRIED AGAIN IT WOULD BE ANOTHER BOY AND I LOVE MY BOYS TO DEATH I FEEL LIKE THE LORD WAS GOING TO CONTINUE TO GIVE ME BOYS AND I AM SURROUNDED BY TO MUCH TESTOSTRONE WITH JUST 3!!

You make me laugh, maybe the Lord has BIGGER plans for the Hubbards. :) I am glad you had three, I also wanted you to have at least three. Yours are so stinkin cute, why stop at two! I honestly don't know. We always talk like we are done. It makes me a little sad to think I will never have another baby. It also makes me sad because I feel like a big part of my decision to be done is the many kidney stones I have when I'm pregnant and the fact that I have c-sections. I now have another hernia (from my c-sections). I am so grateful to have three healthy babies and to be healthy myself from all of my surgeries. So, I THINK we are done, but maybe you could be a surrogate (sp?) for me. ;)

We are not done. We both have always wanted 4 but hopefully Cole will be a little older :) Now that we have a bigger house, I am getting more anxious to have the next one! I am thinking that is it, but who knows! One thing for sure...I will not be like Mrs. Duggar and have 19, but we will have to have an even number :) HEE HEE!

The new photographs are absolutely lovely! And to answer the question, we are SOO done. Of course we are, our youngest is 9 now. But we knew we were done mere weeks after Austin was born. Had he been a delight, rather than a total terror as an infant, baby, and toddler, we may have had another. We had a second because Payton had been such a wonderful, easy baby. But I'm not a gambling woman, I play the odds & 50/50 odds aren't good enough to go through that experience again. lol

Jerid and I have thought a lot about this one! We will most likely have a 3rd Patterson, but at times we think it would be nice to go ahead and start living as a "complete" family. We have a similar situation to Britt. I think we will probably have another girl and A LOT of drama throughout the years!! Of course, I know what to do with girls...I don't know what it would be like if God blessed us with a boy (YIKES)! So, if we decide to have a third, it will be sooner rather than later because I want to start taking vacations etc. as a "complete" family! Don't get too excited Annie, I said sooner not RIGHT NOW!

Oh man- Kristen you did get me pumped! Of course you are having another one. And if you change your mind just give me a few minutes to change it back. :) Three girls would be precious, hey-my mom and dad had four of em!

I'm laughing because I know you weren't talking to us, the greater generation when you posted this, then it occurred to me - hey, our family isn't "complete" until the girls' families are. So, who knows, ours could get really big. But I'm guess we're nearly there. I have always heard there is no such thing as too many grandchildren and I believe it! :)

I knew the moment we had Palmer. On his baseball card announcement, I had printed "our team is now complete...PLAY BALL!" People asked me if I mean it, and I do. I never felt complete after Camden, but I sure do now! It's funny how you come to that realization, and God fills you with an overwhelming sense of satisfaction. I am truly blessed!

Great question! I always say with GREAT confidence that we are complete but can not trace back when I made that decision. We were so busy living life then turned around and Reece was 12 and Kam 7....I don't think I could mentally take having another one and I don't want Reece to be 13 years older than his litle brother or sister. If it was up to Ryan we would have one more, but I'm fine waiting for grandkids!

Well, if you ask me right now. I say I am done. You ask my husband is says "oh, we are having another one for sure!" I think I am just ready for the next stage of life. Where the kids get a little more independent. I love my babies but they are hard work!

I agree with Becky... We think for a few years our family is complete, then the grandchildren start coming. I'm still hoping for more of them. Then the family will feel complete again for awhile, then the great grandchildren will start coming.

The cycle of life is so amazing, and you don't really appreciate it until your children start having children.

I used to wish sometimes that we could have had a boy also, but the Lord blessed us with the two best daughters in the world!

P.S. If you decide to change your mind I won't hold you to the decision that your are done now!
