My Little ROCKSTAR (at 8 Months)

My "Fatty" is 8 months old. 2/3rds of a year! Wow! I love these pics of him in his little guitar onesie and his fuzzy, wild hair remind me of a little "Rocker". I love it.

I really don't have much to say about what he's up to, that I have't already blogged about lately: His (almost) crawling, his first word (which he's only said that one time), etc. He still has just the two bottom teeth, aren't they cute? The big thing is that in 4 days I'm flying with him to OKC to leave him with the grandparents for a week while we go to Disney World! I am so excited about going to DW, but NOT excited about leaving Thad. I know it will be a much better trip without him, but I'm going to miss him like CRAZY!!

Sooo Close...........

Thad is SOOOO close to crawling, but not quite there. It is SO cute and funny to watch him try. He can get up on his hands and knees then instead of moving his knees forward, he puts his head down on the ground and straightens his knees, like he's trying to do a hand stand. It is so funny. Sometimes, he actually moves forward while doing this, keeping his head on the ground the whole time. Then he usually squats down in a frog-like position, or just rolls over. The ole roll-over technique is still a reliable means of getting around for him for now.

I am VERY anxious for him to crawl. Not because I want him to start getting into everything or grow up too fast, but because in a week and a half, I will be leaving him for a week with the grandparents, while we go to Disney World. If he waits until I am gone to start crawling, I will NOT be happy. I am NOT thrilled about leaving him for a week anyway, and if he decides to hit a major milestone while I am in another state, I will be OH SO SAD! So, we are working really hard on it. Surely he can get it-he has more than a week, right?

Here are some pics of the little man in action. These really don't do justice to how cute he is doing his little hand-stand.....

This last one, he is mid-role. He usually gives up after a moment and decides rolling is easier.
****UPDATE: I just got a couple of pictures that show the "technique" a little better...

COMPLETE

www.shannonwatsonphoto.com

Taking our family picture got me thinking that this was the first family photo of our COMPLETE family. Yes, stick a fork in me-I'm done. With the baby making business, that is. Unless God has other plans, our family is complete.
After Rhett was born, I just really had a feeling that we would have another baby. We didn't feel quite "done". We were pretty sure we would have 3 kids, but no more. When I was pregnant with Thad, even though I couldn't imagine having 4, I just wasn't sure and didn't think I would be absolutely positive we were done after he was born. HOWEVER, since Thad has been here, I am OH SO SURE, that this is our complete family. So this is us, the Hubbard family-(unless, like I said, God has other plans, cause his are always best- right! But I tend to think He agrees with me on this one....)
So, I'm curious about you all. Are your families complete? If so, when did you know? Did you get the "feeling" or was it other factors? Do you regret not having just one more? If you're not "done" when do you think you will be? How will you know??

Tidbit Tuesday

Hollace: So I am a big coupon cutter/user. The other day Hollace came home from school and said she had something for me in her bag. She dug out the bar code she had cut off her Goldfish sack from her snack at school, and said "I found this coupon for you". Aaahh, a girl after my own heart. I thought it was sweet- NOT a coupon, but sweet!

Rhett: Lately, when getting in trouble, Rhett will often ask "Are you a little bit mad or are you SO, SO mad?" I'm not sure what difference this makes to him, but he always wants an answer.

Thad: Just today he said his first word: MAMA! Ok, so he was just babling, but I promise the two syllable MA-MA came out and I'm counting it, because the other two said Dada first.

An Important First

Thad had a very important "first" last Saturday. Yes, his first OU FOOTBALL GAME!! (Don't tell him we lost).

Here is the newest OU fan at our house with his Daddy last week. Let's hope for a better outcome tonight!

7 MONTHS

Thad is 7 months (and a few days) old now! He is just this week starting to sit up a little. Just for a few seconds then, he falls over, but it's a start. He is still not crawling, but gets up on his hands and knees with some effort. He loves to babble and make noise. He enjoys playing on the floor with his brother and sister and still loves to be held. I've got him off one of his reflux medicines and am working on the other. I hope to have him weaned off, before it needs a refill, since it's $75 after insurance!! It's worth it though.
Here are his 6 month pictures, we had done here by Shannon Watson. She took some of each of the kids, which I'll share later, and some family pics (the new one in the header). She did a great job. If you are in the area, you should check her out at: http://www.shannonwatsonphoto.com/.

You might be a redneck if...........

You spend Saturday night at the car races..............

Earlier this summer we went to the Nashville Motor Speedway. Cars are still one of Rhett's very favorite things. He loves the movie Cars, but also just fast cars in general. I wasn't too excited about it, but knew Rhett would enjoy it. Hollace was also not to impressed with the idea and decided she should bring a coloring book "in case she got bored", and that she did. I, however, wasn't nearly as bored as I thought I would be. There was something strangely entertaining about watching these colorful cars drive round and round in circles. It was VERY, VERY, loud. So lest, you worry about the fragile little eardrums of poor little Thad, there was a man walking around selling earplugs.

Notice his little "McQueen" in his hand. He just had to bring it to the race.

** This was actually a couple of months ago and I hadn't realized how much Thad's hair has grown.

Tidbit Tuesday

Here are a couple of tidbits about my boys for this week:

Rhett: He talks really well and uses some really big words, but there are a few of his pronunciations that really make me laugh. He says ketchup, "check-up". Kitchen is "chicken" and my favorite is (I might have mentioned this before) that he calls Thad, Fatty (Thaddy). It is SO cute.

Thad: He is still not crawling OR sitting up very well. He just rolls around ALL over the place-and has a big bald spot to show for it! He can barely get up on his hands and knees, but just for a second. He doesn't really try very hard, I guess he figures he can get where he needs to by rolling.
* I love Thad's face in this picture.
