Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, OH MY!

I'm still here, just been busy-and a little lazy and haven't kept up with my blog. A few weeks ago we took the kids to the OKC zoo. We went pretty early in the morning to try to beat the heat. It still got pretty hot, but we had a good time. Here are a few pics of the kids and a few of the animals we saw.

Celebrating the 4th!

For the 4th we went to the annual picnic in Mooreland with Brent's family. It really is a pretty big thing. The kids participated in bike/push toy races and a money dig. We also played in the park and had bar-b-cue and snow-cones -you know, all the traditional 4th of July things.

Grammy actually climbed up on this tall slide with Rhett. I'm sure she is thrilled I captured this moment.

Rhett hasn't quite developed his competitive spirit yet. He got third place in his heat. (I think there were three contestants.)

Hollace on the other hand, told us before the race she was going to ride really fast and beat everybody. She did smoke everyone. In fact, she told me after the race that there was smoke coming from her tires.

Here are a couple of pics of the kids watching fireworks that night. Hollace was not overly impressed.

Flashback Friday: Together for TEN!

I too, really like Leslie's "Flashback Friday" idea. I like looking at the old pictures. I don't know how often I'll do it, but decided today was a good day to start. Ten years ago today was the first "sort of" date that Brent and I had. It wasn't really an official date. We went to a 4th of July party with some friends. But I would say this was the official start of our relationship. We were life-guarding together that summer and as they say, the rest is history. This was not the way Brent had planned on spending his summer and him working there was a last minute thing. I'm so glad God sometimes has different plans than we do! It's hard to believe that was 10 years ago. Here are some pics from our dating relationship. Sorry about the quality.

We really do have lots of fun memories from the pool together. We life-guarded together the next summer, too.

This was at some sort of Farm House function.
This is us with Mark and Kim some college friends from FH. They are married now, too.

Aaaaaahhhhh!
This was at a FH formal at Grand Lake- the night we got engaged.
