Holiday Ball with the Grandparents

December 13th was the Cotillion Holiday Ball.  It was a little more formal than the other events and it was special because grandparents were invited!
Hollace was so excited about it. She loves to get dressed up!
She is one lucky, blessed girl to have these four FABULOUS people as grandparents!
Seriously, she couldn't ask for better grandparents.
AND there are over 80 years of marriage represented here!
What an amazing example that is for her!
Getting corsages from her handsome Papas.

Being silly with Nana and Grammy
 Three beautiful ladies
 Papa and Grammy Hubbard

 Papa and Nana Brown

Thank you all for coming! She had a fabulous time and was so glad you all could be there!
Hollace looked so beautiful and so grown up!
But she's beautiful on the inside too.
She is so sweet and was so excited to take her grandparents to the dance.

Thanksgiving School Festivities

For Thanksgiving, the second graders had a "Pie Social". The week before the event. The sweet lady who does the Cotillion for the older kids in Greenwood, came to the school and gave the kids some etiquette lessons. For their Thanksgiving "party", they went to an indoor meeting area at a local park to put their lessons to work.
They were randomly paired with someone in their class and the boys escorted to girls off the bus and into the building.
This is Rhett and his friend, Lauren.

(I forgot my camera, so these are all phone pictures:( )

Once inside, the boys asked the girls what type of pie they would like then served them before they got their own.

Rhett was really sweet and did a really great job!!

After the pie, they got to do some fun line dances they had been learning in PE.
They had a great time with that!
Thad's class did a short little program about the pilgrims and Indians and then had a traditional Thanksgiving feast.

October and November Cotillion

Cotillion in October was a "Be a Super Hero" Theme.
We came up with this Wonder Woman costume without having to buy anything!

They did a little dancing practice....

Each one of them had to tell why they chose the hero they dressed up as. It was to teach them how to speak slowly and clearly.
Then they were escorted to their reception.  Those tall boys are actually high school students from the older cotillion group, that help out with the younger group. I think Hollace is actually taller then all but maybe one of the boys is her group.
This is Hollace with Mary Ann the director of Cotillion in Greenwood. She does such a great job.
The 5th graders.

I thought she was a beautiful Wonder Woman!!

In November, Cotillion was a Dinner Dance where they learned dining etiquette. I was actually out of town at tennis State that weekend so Dad had to help get her ready by himself. He even put on a little makeup for her.  Then he texted me the picture of the black scarf on as a shaw and asked if it looked ok  because she would get chilly without something. It was really sweet and he did a great job. Hollace is lucky to have him as a Daddy.
