"Touch a Truck"

A local park had an event a couple of weeks ago called "Touch a Truck". They had all sorts of vehicles there that the kids could not just see, but get in, climb on, etc. It was SO neat and the kids, especially Rhett, loved it. There were firetrucks, police cars, dump trucks, SWAT team trucks, and more-and they were all the REAL DEAL! Here are some pictures from the day:

Hollace "driving" a bulldozer
Rhett "driving" a fork-lift
They got to pet this police horse..........

and even try out these Police "hogs"

Rhett loved climbing all over this huge tractor/combine thing

He wasn't afraid of being up so high at all.

Thad did not have such a good time. He would be just relaxing, minding his own business, and then some kid would honk a horn, or blow a siren and he would just SCREAM!. It really was very loud and there was no warning when it was coming, so it would really startle him! Poor guy.
Rhett had a better time than it appears from some of the pictures. For some reason he wouldn't smile for me when I tried to take pictures. When he saw me with a camera he would just frown...

**Poor Rhett has the hand, foot & mouth virus. His mouth is SOOOO sore. He can't eat or even drink anything. He is just miserable, so the rest of us are too! He cried most of yesterday, and today doesn't seem to be starting off any better. He didn't sleep well at all the last two nights either. He and Hollace had this once before I think, quite a while back, but not nearly this bad! It is SO sad. I hate that I can't do anything for him! I am just trying to get him to drink, so he doesn't get dehydrated!- I SO hope and pray that little Thad doesn't get it!!

A Healthy Heart!!

Thad had an echocardiogram at his appointment and the Dr. said it looked "absolutely perfect". Praise God! Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!!

I don't think Thad was very worked up over the ordeal. He doesn't seem too stressed about it. What do you think?

I "HEART" my 4 month old!!

This post is a little late and the pictures are even later. These are Thad's 3 month pictures my dad took.

He was actually 3 1/2 months and he is now actually 4 1/2 months, but I wanted to give a little update on what our little guy is up to. He feels SOOOO much better on his reflux medicine. I don't really like the idea of him being on medicine, but it is worth it. He is getting much better at just hanging out (without being held) and entertaining himself. He smiles and laughs a lot, and he talks all the time-really loudly. I think he likes to hear himself.

He had his 4 mo. well check last week and the Dr. said he looks great and is a very social baby- for whatever that's worth. He is a BIG baby too. He is about 26 in. long (75-90th %ile) and weighs 16 1/2 lbs (50-75th %ile). He is wearing 6 mos. in most clothes.

As for the sleeping, he has his good nights and his not so good nights. I can't figure out what I do different on those days that are good, so I just never know. He is doing better, but definitely no 9-11 hours that some are bragging about (Katie!). Just kidding, I would SO be bragging too. Same thing during the day. Some days he takes 2-3 good long naps and other days just a few very short power naps!

He is eating cereal twice a day, and we just started some veggies this last week-he is NOT impressed at all with those!!

He is just the sweetest baby, and we "heart" him so much!!!

***Speaking of heart, while we were at his appointment, the Dr. heard a murmur she had never noticed before. (Of course I got out my stethoscope and dusted it off as soon as we got home so I could listen.) So in the morning we are headed to a pediatric cardiologist in Nashville to check it out. Many babies have a benign murmur, so please PRAY that this is all it is. I feel hopeful, since it wasn't present (or picked up) at birth, and he is growing SO well. These are good signs, and usually not the case with pathological murmurs, but I would still appreciate your prayers. I'll let you know what we find out.

First Friend

While we were in Oklahoma I got to go see my sweet friend Annie. Her family was all camping so we went to the campgrounds to see them. Thad and I also got to meet little miss Ruby. She is 8 days older than Thad. Annie and I have been pregnant together twice. You can see a post about that here.
Hollace and Lily were also glad to see each other and always have a great time. Somehow I didn't get a picture of the older kids, but there will be a next time. Hopefully, we will be back in Woodward the same time for holidays now and then.
Thad and Ruby-aren't they cute together?

When we took this picture I promised Annie that I would post a reminder that she had been camping all weekend (read: no makeup, hairfixing, etc.). I think you look beautiful!

A Picture of Faith

I mentioned in a previous post that we had a big event while in Oklahoma. There were actually two events to post separately, but the first was- Hollace getting baptized! She accepted Jesus in April and immediately started asking to get baptized. Since we haven't joined a church here yet, and we are still members at WW FBC, -and we thought it would be great if all the family could be there- we decided to do it there. We are so happy and proud of Hollace. What a blessing! Can you really hope for anything more for your children than that they would accept SALVATION!?! She is so excited about God right now. I hope she never loses her excitement. She has been telling everyone here that she "asked Jesus into her heart". It is so sweet.

I think we look a lot alike in this picture. Is it just me?

This is our first picture of our "complete" family of 5!

First Trip Back to OK!

I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures from our first trip home to Oklahoma. Of course we had a great time, seeing lots of family and friends. We did have a major relapse in Rhett's potty-training and in Thad's night-time sleeping routine while there and since we have been back. It is very frustrating and just now starting to improve toward where we were before.
Here is a little of what went on during the trip:
Thad met for the first time: Bev, Uncle Scott, Aunt Juana and Uncle Colby. Here he is with Bev

The kids made real mud pies- (this would only happen at the grandparents')

Rhett being Rhett
He still like CARS- just a little.
Helping Papa Larry take out the trash
For some reason Hollace has been very interested in karate. She gave us all a little demonstration in the Hubbards' front yard before we left.
Here is the Brown side of the family. Sydnie (and baby Margot) got to come for the weekend, but Jeremy had to stay and work.

Somehow when my parents were here when Thad was born we failed to get a picture of them and the grand kids- so here they are. Check out Hollace's pose-what a ham.
Here are Thad and his cousin Gunnar. Thad is 3 months younger, but they are about the same size. Thad is actually longer! Aren't they cute??
Here is Grammy with the two babies. Look how they're holding hands. Aaahhh!
I LOVE this picture. It looks like Thad is a little model with everyone primping him for the shoot. Ha! and look at Gunnar's big grin!
Here is the Hubbard side of the family all together

We all had a great time and miss everyone already!
There was one big event during our visit which I'll save for a separate post.
