Frontier City

This last weekend we went to Frontier City. We had a really good time. It wasn't too busy and it was hot, but definitely not miserable. We were afraid there might not be enough the kids, especially Rhett, could do. However, we were there for 7 hours and I don't think we did anything twice. There was a nice kiddie area with lots of fun stuff, and they could even ride on several of the big rides. They had a great time. Hollace was a little dare-devil and even went on one of the big roller-coasters with me. We decided to stop by on the way there and buy one of those safety harnesses (code for "kid leash") for Rhett. While I did feel a little like I was walking a dog all day, it was a very good idea!! Anyway, we all had a great time, and were worn out!

Blog Hog

I got to thinking about what a "Blog Hog" Hollace has been lately. Since the last several posts have been completely about her, I thought I would post a few pictures of Rhett, my favorite little man. These are from a couple of weeks ago at the park. I did include one of Hollace, she was actually there. Hope everyone is having a fun and safe Memorial weekend.

I've Been Tagged

I've been tagged by Mandy Garvie. I like reading these so I guess I'll play along. Here's how to play: Post the rules on your blog and complete the following: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, and 3 random, surprising facts about yourself. At the end of your post tag five people and let them know they are tagged by leaving them a comment on their blog- Have fun.

3 Joys:
1. My children: Hollace Claire and Rhett Brown. They really are the joys of my life.
2. My wonderful husband. I really am lucky.
3. Knowing I am saved by the grace of Jesus Christ.

3 Fears:
1. My children not becoming Christians.
2. Losing a loved one.
3. This is a hard one. I'm really not afraid of spiders, heights, the dark or any of that stuff.

3 Goals:
1. To be the best mother and wife I can be.
2. To catch up on my scrapbooking by the end of this year.
3. To run a FULL marathon someday. (Maybe when my kids are older and I have more time for the time-consuming training.)

3 Obsessions/Collections:
1. Scrapbooking.
2. Diet Dr. Pepper with vanilla.
3. My planner. I'm not sure I would know where I was if I lost it.!

3 Random/Surprising Fact About Me:
1. Since I've seen it on a few of your posts, I've never watched a single episode of "Big Brother".
2. I love to run- I truly enjoy it.
3. I love to read scary, mystery books-wish I had more time to do it.

I tag: My mom, Sydnie, Kara, Tisha, and Ashley. Have Fun!!

The End of a Long Day!

Ok, if you haven't realized it, I have been posting about one day (May 4th) for way too long now.  I promise this is it. This was the AWANA/Puggles program from Sunday night at church. Hollace's pre-school group sang a song then did a little presentation on Creation. Hollace's line was: On the sixth day God created (prompting from the teacher) "animals and people". She did really good the whole day with her choir in the morning, then the dance recital, and finally the AWANA's program that evening. I think I was more tired than she was!

My Little Performer

Here are the dance recital pictures, finally. The pics from my Dad turned out pretty well, considering how far back we were. Hollace did a really good job. At one point in one dance, she was getting on to the girl next to her and telling her to get on her X. There were little Xs taped on the floor for the little girls, and apparetly Kyse was off her X. Hollace is a little bossy. I can't imagine where she got that. Anyway, enjoy the pics.
How sweet does she look?

Check out this form-and the serious face. This pose reminds me of one of those Spanish bull-fighting guys with the red capes.

This part was hilarious. They were all trying to make this pose. Arms were flying and legs were falling everywhere. Look at her tongue sticking out in deep concentration.

The girl she's holding hands with here is Kyse, who was "off her X".

Pre- Dance Recital

I was waiting for my Dad to e-mail me the pictures he got from the recital before I posted these, but I decided to go ahead. He got some much better pictures of the actual recital with his camera than I did. These are pre-recital. You can imagine all the hair-fixing, make-uping and changing that was going on backstage with pre-school through 12th grade dancers all getting ready. The little ones were first so once the recital started they got to dance, then come sit down and watch for awhile. Hollace loved it and did a really good job.

This is Hollace's good friend Brynn.
The girls passing time, being silly.

Hollace with her friends Ally DonCarlos, Brynn Carpenter, and Katie Cole. They all go to Free Spirit pre-school together. Aren't they precious?

Stay tuned for actual recital pics.

Busy Day

This Sunday was a very busy day for us. It was Children's Day at church so Hollace's pre-school choir group sang 2 songs in the morning service. They are so cute and funny at that age. After church we had to rush home to eat, change and get Hollace to her first dance recital by 1:30. That evening her Puggles/Awanas (the Wed. evening church program) group had a presentation. I will post pictures from the recital and evening church later. This first picture of Hollace and Caden Reid cracks me up. This was while they were waiting for their turn to sing. Kara went to take a picture, and Caden put his arm around her and she leaned into him. They have such a love-hate relationship. It is too funny. They fight like brother and sister.

Sharing

Not much going on here lately. I took these pictures of the kids the other night when they were sharing a bedtime snack-a jar of peanut butter. They both are pretty good eaters, especially good snackers, like their mother!
