Introducing..........

Thad Aaron Hubbard

Thad was born at 3:02 am Wed., Jan. 28, 2009. He was 7 lbs. 3 oz. and 20 3/4" long. He was a surprise in a few ways. I though he would be bigger (since Rhett was over 8 lbs.) and he has a full head of hair! My other 2 have been pretty much bald. In fact, Hollace was bald until she was over 2! And he came a little earlier than expected. It was all pretty exciting. We barely made it to the hospital and were there only about an hour before he was born. It was such a blessing that my parents had decided to come a little early and were already here. My Mom came with Brent and I, and my Dad stayed and got the kids up and around and they got there just after Thad was born. If we had had to deal with getting the kids up, etc. we may not have made it!
Here are the proud new big brother and sister
Check out this hair. He reminds me of Rod Stewart sometimes!

***So who won the little guessing game?.....Looks like Kristen was closest on the first two questions, and my mom and Sydnie also got closest on two questions, the last two. What do you win you ask? Well two of the winners won a new grandson and nephew. I'll have to think of something for you, Kristen. I guess I owe you a coke...

Still Pregnant...

Well, I'm still pregnant.....but relieved. My parents decided to come a little early, so they are here. They got here late this evening. Of course the kids were SOOO excited to see them. And I now am not so stressed about the baby possibly coming before Thursday. Any time now would be fine with me. I am officially at the "tired of being pregnant and feeling huge" point.

Flashback Friday: Family of Four

I was thinking that this should be my last Friday as a mother of 2!-and as part of a family of four! By next weekend we will have a new little member of the family. I thought I would post a few pictures of us when Hollace was born and when Rhett was born. It seems so long ago in some ways and in other ways it has gone by SOOO fast......

Brent and I the day we became parents! My how times have changed.

Here is Hollace just before we left the hospital.

The four of us just after Rhett was born.

Hollace with her new baby brother. She seems so little!

Thoughts on Thad??

I had a doctor's appointment last Thursday, and everything looked good. I won't give you all the details of my check, but she said I was making changes and it could be any day--- or three weeks! She set an induction date for Jan. 29th, if I haven't had him yet. We are currently trying to make a plan for what to do if I don't make it until then. We have had some pretty creative ideas, and desperate ones too, in regards to what to do with our kids when the time comes. Brent's idea was to "just let the nurses watch them." I told him "As a nurse, NO, that is not an option." He was kidding, I think....

Anyway, I saw this on another blog and though it would be fun. Everyone leave a comment with you guesses about Thad and his arrival. The one with the most right or closest guesses, wins!

1. Birthday and time of birth

2. Weight

3. Length in inches

4. Hair: bald, peach fuzz, or full head
***CONGRATULATIONS to Annie, Josh, Lily and Cooper on the birth of sweet baby Ruby this morning!! Can't wait to see pictures! I bet Mimi or Aunt Katie will post some soon.

Can you say Ornery???

Rhett has been more than just a little ornery lately. For some reason he has decided to fight going to sleep, at bedtime and nap time. His new big boy bed is not going so well, to say the least! We often hear him running around upstairs for over an hour after he is suppose to be asleep. Good thing Hollace is a hard sleeper, because we have found him in her room with the light on, playing after she is asleep.

Lately he has decided he has a thing for hot dogs, which he calls "corn dogs". He brought an unopened package into our bed to wake me up the other morning. He got cereal instead, but at the end of the day, there were 4 hot dogs missing from the package. I hadn't given him any of them. He just helps himself. The last one he took after he was suppose to be in bed that night. Brent and I were in the den and after he had been in bed (or so we thought) for about 45 minutes, we heard him up. He was up in his room with the light on and a horrible case of "hot dog breath". I said "what have you been doing?" and he said "Corn dog." At least he's honest.? The last few nights his prayer has even been "Thank you..Mommy, Daddy, Corn dog...."

Rhett has also discovered he can open this front door, unlike our old one, which was really hard to open. He has helped himself out several times. He also likes to open the pantry, pull a bar stool over and help himself. So I bought these safety door things at target that go over door knobs. We put them on four of the doors one night just before he went to bed. One was on a closet door in his room that leads to an attic storage area. He had this one off in less than 10 minutes (after he was suppose to be in bed), and the other 3 off by about 9 am the next morning! So much for that!?

Say Cheeese.....Enchiladas!

Grammy Terri use to have us over for dinner quite a bit and Hollace always had the same request: Cheese enchiladas! She just loves them and was SO excited every time she made them. She usually helped and had the recipe just about memorized. When I make enchiladas (usually chicken), she always informs me: "These are not like Grammy's". Since we have moved and won't be getting to eat any of Grammy's enchiladas for awhile, I decided to get the recipe and make some for Hollace. She helped and was very specific about how I should make them, even telling me how to roll up the tortillas. I'm not sure if they tasted exactly like Grammy's, but Hollace had thirds, so they must have been close!

Getting Situated, Sort of......

Well I wish I had pictures of an organized, decorated, clean house to show you all, but not quite. While we do have all but a few boxes unpacked, the house is far from ready to be showing off any pictures. The new house is actually a little smaller than our old one. Just a little, and it really doesn't seem like it until we are looking for somewhere to put all our junk! Our master closet took some doing. For those of you who had seen our old one, it was ridiculously big!-huge! So even though our new one isn't small, it took some doing and creativity to fit everything in.
My Dr's appt. went fine last week, and she is leaning toward waiting until about 39 weeks to induce. While this will give me a little longer to be prepared for Thad's arrival, it is one more week that I could possibly go into labor and have no one to keep the kids. We really don't have a plan for if this happens, so if I can be induced, my mom can be here and that would probably be the best scenario.
Here are a few pictures, but I haven't taken a whole lot lately. I'll try to get some better ones soon.

Here are the kids with the moving truck. Rhett was pretty impressed with the "big truck".

The kids were actually really good on the drive to TN. My mom had made a bag of "surprises" for each of them. They got to pick something out of it every so often, if they had been good. Grammy also sent a bag of goodies for us on the way. Here is Rhett with his new "Cars" coloring book.
Here are the kids "helping" put together some shelves for our closet. Uncle Scott actually did this. Thanks Scott for all your help!!This is Hollace on her first day at her new school.
Rhett didn't want to be left out.
This is the last of the boxes.
And finally... here is the nursery, or maybe just a partially put together crib. Does anyone see a problem with this?? I'm not due for like 2 1/2 weeks, right??

We're Still Alive

Just a quick post to let everyone know we made it to TN and are still alive. We can't get our cable/internet/phone hooked up until Saturday. I feel so out of the loop, not that I have had time to watch tv, play on the internet or talk on the phone anyway. We have been trying to get situated and the house in order. Brent started work on Monday and Hollace started school on Tuesday. Rhett has just been helping me at the house. He's LOTS of help.

Right now I am in a hotel room on Brent's laptop. We are here watching the OU game. Yes, we had to get a room just to see the game. We don't know many OU fans here, or anyone for that matter. A guy that Brent works for is a big OU fan so we thought maybe he would invite us over for the game, but he went to the game. SO, here we are. Desperate times call for desperate measures, right? Our other option was going to a sports grill to watch it, but we knew the kids would NOT sit in a public place for 3-4 hours.

Anyway, I'll try to catch up when we finally have the internet hooked up. Hope everyone is having a great New Year.
