Birthday Gifts, Cake, and a Trip!

As you know, this big boy turned 5 a couple of weeks ago. 

Here he is on his way to preschool with cupcakes for his class.

He had been asking for a "puffy vest", so he got one for his birthday and has been wearing it often since.

He chose a baseball cake again. I'm pretty sure this is almost identical to the one he had last year, and the third year in a row he's had a baseball theme, but it's what he wanted.

Thad has been talking about going to a water park for months. For Thanksgiving at school they made a poster and had to tell their favorite memories from Thanksgiving. He said "when we go to the water park".  Well, of course we've never been to a water park on Thanksgiving, but he wasn't giving up on the idea. 

We decided to give him the choice of having a "friends" party, or going to a little resort place in Branson that has an indoor water park. He chose the water park!

So the weekend before his birthday we took a little trip to Branson.

It was really cold, but we had some indoor fun at the water park, playing laser tag

blacklight golfing.......

 I guess I didn't take many pictures, and not a single one at the water park!

Here's one last silly picture at the black light golf place.  Apparently this was for a really tall family. Look at how Brent and Hollace can barely reach! We were all on our tiptoes.
