Graduation and a Crush: Is This High School??

Hollace had a little pre-school graduation ceremony a couple of weeks ago. They all wore little caps and gowns- it was too cute. There were 4 pre-K classes and they each sang a song or some other performance to show what they had learned. They all sang a few songs together and then they showed a slide show of the kids throughout the year. It is a Christian pre-school and Hollace's class did a song of the books of the New Testament. She did so well and seemed very proud of herself.
As for the crush, there is a little boy in her class named Samuel, that she really clicked with since she started there in January. She tells me "I'm just CRAZY about Samuel". At the beginning of the year I couldn't figure out why Hollace never wanted PB&J sandwiches for her lunch at school. It turns out that Samuel happens to be very allergic to peanuts and can't even sit at the table with kids who have PB in their lunches. How cute is that??

Here is a pic that was on the slide show during the ceremony-Oh my!

Samuel has two brothers who are the same ages as Rhett and Thad, so we have all gotten together to play a few times. I do believe his brother Seth, might be as much of a pistol as Rhett!

Here they are during the graduation ceremony........

Anyway, with the graduation and the big crush, I was feeling like Hollace is 5 going on 18!!

Pictureless Wednesday??

I know I just debuted "Wordless Wednesday" last week, and "Pictureless Wednesday" doesn't have quite the same ring to it, AND I don't think pictureless is even a word, but this will have to do for this week. We are in Oklahoma, Woodward to be exact- and I actually do have lots of new pics to post. However, I don't know how to upload pics from my camera to my parents' computer without doing all 500+ of them. We even did Thad's 3 month pictures last night (even though he is now close to 4 months), but my Dad doesn't have them all tweeked, etc. yet, so that will have to wait too. We are having a good time and seeing some people we haven't seen in a while. Thad has even met some pretty important people he's never seen before.
The trip here was very long, but it went better than I anticipated. Thad decided riding in the car isn't so bad after all. He usually cries the entire time he's in the car, so this was a blessing. Brent will be here tonight. The kids and I drove on Thursday and Friday with the help of my mom who flew to TN of Wednesday, just to drive back with us. I just didn't think I could do 13 hours driving (that's 13 hrs. without stopping) with 3 kids and have any shred of sanity left.
Anyway, I hope some of you participate in Wordless Wednesday today and I will try to be prepared next week.

Wordless Wednesday Debut

I saw this on Leia's blog and thought it was a cute idea. On Wednesdays (probably not all of them, but I'll try), I'm going to post just a picture, without any words. I'll just pick a picture that speaks for itself. So here's the debut picture. You all should join me for Wordless Wednesdays!

Never say Never

Well, I never thought I'd see the day that I would be the proud new owner of a........

.............Minivan, yes a MINIVAN! It is true.
I just never thought it would happen. I had so many reason why it wouldn't. But now those reasons just don't matter.
SO.....................
If you think I look like some 30-year-old, Mom's Club-going, mother of three.....that's OK, because I AM.

If you think I must be one of those people who care more about convenience and comfort, than I do style.......that's OK, because in this case I AM.

If you think I have become someone who is more excited about double-power sliding doors than I am about anyone thinking I have a "cool car".......that's OK, because I AM

If you think I am tired of driving around with a HUGE double stroller as my front passenger, because there is no room for it in the back.......you're right, I AM.

If you think I am tired of lifting three children up into my huge, tall vehicle, into car seats numerous times a day.....right again, I AM.

If you think I could be a famous contortionist with some of the positions I have been in getting my children into or out of their car seats, and getting to them without having to get out of the car........that's so true, I COULD BE.

And, if you think I am eating my words right now about "never driving a mini-van",........that's OK, because, I AM.

I realize I have definitely reached a new era in my life, being a "mini-van driver". And while you won't catch me in "Mom jeans" or with a bumper sticker that says "Honk if you love your mini-van" any time soon, I am OK with this new era of my life. I have come to terms with it.

**In case you're wondering it is a Nissan Quest- SOOO the coolest of the minivans! Ha!..........

All Dressed Up- For a Good Cause

A few weeks ago, Brent and I went to a "black tie" event in Nashville. It was actually called the "Kidney Kaper", which is a fund raiser for the Middle TN transplant foundation. Brent is the administator over the kidny transplant dept. at Centennial, which is why we went. It was a dinner, art auction, and dance. It was really nice to just get dressed up and get away without the kids. It was the first time we left Thad, and the first time we've had to get a babysitter since we've been in TN! Come to think of it, it might be the first time I've EVER paid a babysitter (for the evening, not including daytime hours for care while I was at work). Wow! We sure do miss the grandparents!!
How handsome does my husband look in his tux?

This might be the most dressed up I've been since Prom '97!

Speaking of prom, check out this photo-op they had set up at the event!

Grammy and Papa's Visit

So this post is a little overdue. I thought I had posted this, but realized I hadn't.
In March, on Oklahoma's spring break, Grammy and Papa (Brent's parents) came to TN for their first visit, and to meet Thad. I guess he was about 6-7 weeks old. We had fun and the kids got spoiled for a whole week! We did some fun things like going to Monkey Joe's (a big indoor inflatable play place) and Terri made a couple of Brent's favorite meals-so I guess he got a little spoiled too! (All of us did, I guess. She's a great cook-and that meant I didn't have to cook!)

The kids at Monkey Joes

Aunt Sydnie and Uncle Jeremy came for a quick weekend visit the next weekend and somehow, we didn't get any pictures-OOOPS!. Thad has yet to meet his Aunt Juana, Uncle Colby, cousin Gunnar, Uncle Scott, and Bev. We are going to make our first trip back to Woodward around Memorial Day. We are looking forward to it and I'm sure there will be many pics to post!
Have a great weekend!
