Well, I never thought I'd see the day that I would be the proud new owner of a........
.............Minivan, yes a MINIVAN! It is true.
I just never thought it would happen. I had so many reason why it wouldn't. But now those reasons just don't matter.
SO.....................
If you think I look like some 30-year-old, Mom's Club-going, mother of three.....that's OK, because I AM.If you think I must be one of those people who care more about convenience and comfort, than I do style.......that's OK, because in this case I AM.
If you think I have become someone who is more excited about double-power sliding doors than I am about anyone thinking I have a "cool car".......that's OK, because I AM
If you think I am tired of driving around with a HUGE double stroller as my front passenger, because there is no room for it in the back.......you're right, I AM.
If you think I am tired of lifting three children up into my huge, tall vehicle, into car seats numerous times a day.....right again, I AM.
If you think I could be a famous contortionist with some of the positions I have been in getting my children into or out of their car seats, and getting to them without having to get out of the car........that's so true, I COULD BE.
And, if you think I am eating my words right now about "never driving a mini-van",........that's OK, because, I AM.
I realize I have definitely reached a new era in my life, being a "mini-van driver". And while you won't catch me in "Mom jeans" or with a bumper sticker that says "Honk if you love your mini-van" any time soon, I am OK with this new era of my life. I have come to terms with it.
**In case you're wondering it is a Nissan Quest- SOOO the coolest of the minivans! Ha!..........

WHAT??? I can't believe it! I am sure Annie is thrilled because we always give her such a hard time about the mini-van! I have to admit, you do have some very good reasonings behind your new purchase! Enjoy!!!
OHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOO!!! Are you sure about this?? It probably isn't too late...you can probably still take it back if you want to!! I for sure thought you would be the last of us. Okay, that's fine Annie...mark that down as 1 for your team. As long as it isnt' that sea foam green color. I really do understand, it makes so much sense. My kids are finally old enough to crawl in and buckle themselves, so I think I am in the clear. (sorry, I had to give you such a hard time...but we all did it to Annie to, and you sound like you were kind of prepared for the comments :) Enjoy your NEW CAR!!
So, where's the picture? I can't wait to ride in it.
I like the new look you gave your blog.
Love the new look!
Love your new blog look. And the maturity you exhibit in embracing the inevitable....!
Congrats!! What I find funny is that people thought they were giving me a hard time!!! SERIOUSLY people I WANTED a minivan and was pumped to get one. There is NO better car for a mother of three, you can try to argue but you would be wrong!!!! :)
What I don't understand is who ever started the myth that minivans ARE NOT STYLISH??? Cause THEY ARE!I should know, I drove one for about 15 years :D And they hold a lot, get great gas mileage, carry alot of passengers, I could go on and on.....
BTW - what are "mom jeans" - I probably own some.
Also, I love you and Brent's prom picture!
hey ladies, i've been driving a mini van since i was 26!!! because i am that cool! ;-)
I'm pretty sure since you are indeed a mini-van driver, the "Mom Jeans" are forsure just around the corner :) Remember....never say never!!
I'm still holding out & I think I've made it, since the kids are old enough and I'm not having anymore. I will think of you everytime I see a minivan from now on. JK =o)
Funny post, what a HOT topic!:) I never said I wouldn't have a minivan but I seriously "thought" I would never have one. I think girls say a lot of stuff before they become moms. I knew "my kids would never act as bad as some kids I saw in grocery stores!" Man do I eat my words!!! Anyway, I a proud mini-van owner, feel that as mom of three a car in not that important. Getting older I have come to realize what is important and a car is NOT one of them. I am all about convenience! And I look COOL in whatever I drive!;) Oh, by the way, my Odyssey will take on your Quest anyday!:)
This comment is for Katie - That's how I put on my weight - by having to eat my words! So be careful.
By the way, what are mom jeans? I think I know, but I do call them something different...old lady jeans.
I seriously wish I would have gotten a minivan instead of my Jeep...we went to branson and I put my neice in out commander with us...let me just say I became a contortionist for 4 days...and I am twice your size...not fun. Anyway, my next purchase will be a minivan when we can trade the ole commander in or just buy another car. I am with Katie...I kinda like the odyssy!
Like you I always said NEVER a minivan. And, also like you and for all the same reasons you've listed (minus 1 child), I can't wait to get my van too. We're Honda fans so Odyssey it will be and I challenge you to be cooler in your Quest!
On the other side of things, right now, I feel like a dork for trying to stuff my 2 tots into the back of my Accord...like I'm trying to hang on to being cool or something.
